Is Equity Release Best for Me?

If you seek Independent advice you will soon be able to see if this is your best option and if so, how to proceed.

How Do I know what Scheme is Best for Me?

It is very important you make the correct choice when deciding how to release equity from your property, however making that decision could be made considerably easier if you take independent advice and speak to someone who uses THE WHOLE OF THE MARKET PROVIDERS, as they will have access to every scheme available.

If it agreed that the best option to raise some cash is via an equity release scheme your IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) will look at what plans are most appropriate and source potential ones with the various providers.

Why do I need an IFA?

Every IFA is regulated by the Financial Service Authority (FSA) so has to adhere to the very strict rules imposed and their sole purpose is to find and offer you advice which is based on what is best for you and not anyone else.

It should also be noted that by using an IFA that has access to the Whole of the Market providers (i.e. he can use ANY scheme from ANY provider) you can always be assured you will receive best advice and what is most appropriate for you and your circumstances.

What is the Process?

The process starts with your IFA firstly understanding your situation and what you are trying to achieve, all of which can be established in a very informal way (1st meeting). Once he has understood exactly what you require he will start to prepare a more formal understanding and assessment of what you require (2nd meeting). Once the full fact find has been completed he can source the best options for you to consider and will present those to you on the 3rd meeting.

It is only at this stage will you be asked to make a commitment and if it helps to avoid any unnecessary pressure, you can always invite a family member or friend to be with you at all the meetings.

Completion - As this is a fully regulated financial proposal it will take time for the whole thing to be completed and paid out, with some timelines extending to 12 weeks* from start to finish, so you may need to be prepared for this.
* The time from start to finish will vary depending on a number of things, so this time frame could be considerably less or more.

Why not ask the question and see if you will actually qualify?

There is NO OBLIGATION to ask a few questions and even after the SECOND MEETING you will still not be obliged to proceed - If you wish to ask a few questions please call 020 3286 3929 and we will do our best to assist you.
