Equity release plans from Aviva and plans for releasing equity in your home
Aviva Equity Release Plans - What Equity Release Plans are available from Aviva and how can you apply for one?

Aviva Equity Release plans are no longer available direct from the company however they are still available if you use a Regulated and Approved SHIP (Formally know as the Equity Release Council) Company to provide you with the service.

The minimum age and amount remains the same as with all the other equity release plans, so you will need to be at least 55 years old and the minimum amount you can take will always be £10,000, but the rates you will receive from Aviva will remain the same as if they offered the service themselves.

Can I still apply for an Aviva Equity Release Plan even though they have stopped providing them?
YES - Even though Aviva has recently closed their direct sales team it is still possible to use Aviva Equity Release Plan to withdraw some funds from the equity in your home. The only real difference is you will need to use an IFA to complete the process.

Will it cost me more money if I have to use an IFA?
Every IFA will need to be fully authorised and regulated by the various financial authorities, meaning they would need to adhere to all the strict rules and regulations, including the cost and fee structures, so it should cost you no more money using an IFA than had you signed up directly with Avivia.

Is there any benefit to using an IFA?
YES - An IFA will always give you the best advice and plan most suited FOR YOU and not the salesperson or the provider. When any SHIP(Formally know as the Equity Release Council) registered adviser offers any advice, they must do so in the best interest of their client (i.e. YOU) and as it is a heavily regulated industry, you can be assured of receiving the best possible advice.

What does 'Whole of Market' mean? - By using an IFA you will have access to the Whole of Market as by definition, they are 'Independent' so not tied to any one company or provider. This means you will have much greater choices as you will have access to all the providers in the market place and their various plans and not just those offered by Aviva, so your choice will be much greater
